This year, our show is dedicated to industry drivers and their employers. It’s our way of saying a huge “thank you” for your support over the past six years. The Committee is planning a fun-filled weekend with activities and programs for all ages, and we hope you will invite your family and friends to attend. Currently, the STEGH Foundation is engaged in “it’s Hip to Give!” a bold initiative to raise $400,000 for Orthopaedics. Four out of five people in Elgin County will need the services of an orthopaedic surgeon at some point in their lives and, with the rapidly-aging population, STEGH is facing a wave of hip or knee replacement surgeries. Dr. Anthony Cervinka, a new orthopaedic surgeon, has been hired as part of a tremendous team of dedicated nurses and health care professionals at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital. However, in order to provide patients with top quality care using the latest orthopaedic techniques, up-to-date tools and equipment must be purchased, otherwise, it is like trying to fix a truck using a little red tool box … it can’t be done. This year, proceeds from the 2009 “Show, Shine and Shootout” will be directed to this very important area of patient care so the gift of tools and technology are available to meet the needs of families such as yours.
Partners of the St. Thomas Truck Nationals present proceeds of the 2007 Show in the amount of $23,000 to Chris Stinson of The Elgin General Hospital Foundation towards their "Tools For Treatment Campaign".
Partners pictured are Peterbilt of Ontario Group David Climie, Doug House and Darren Ostrander; Committee Members Dave Plain, Ron Elliott and Dave MacIntyre.
Absent from this photo are Dave & Linda Mathers from the St Thomas Dragway.
